ABSOLUTE ENERGY SRL
The inhabitants of Gatoki and Rutenderi (Gatsibo District, Rwanda) will finally be able to benefit from the realization of two mini-grids. The two communities, which were not connected to the national grid, have finally access to a clean, sustainable source of energy which is suitable for their current and future needs.
ESI Spa has collaborated in the construction of two mini-grids in Rwanda by building two off-grid hybrid photovoltaic plants in EPC formula on behalf of the investment platform "Absolute Energy Capital" in partnership with EnDev Rwanda. Each photovoltaic system is characterized by an installed power of 50 kWp using high-quality polycrystalline modules ground-mounted with steel-galvanized structures, built by a local company. The storage capacity of 100 kWh (acid-lead technology) guarantees the electricity supply continuously throughout the day. There is also a 50-kVA diesel generator as a back-up component. The back-up generator comes into operation to allow maintenance of the system, as a support in conditions of high energy demand and to avoid excessive discharge of the batteries thus ensuring continuity of electricity supply in all operating conditions and maximizing performance and the useful life of each component of the system.
Each mini-grid has about 500 users connected through a low voltage distribution network, in the specific case of the Rutenderi community, the users are divided into 457 domestic users, 36 commercial users and 7 public institutions.
Thanks to the presence of our photovoltaic system, new commercial activities have been introduced within the community, which can now use refrigerators for food and sanitary purposes, as well as bakeries for the production of several baked goods using flour that is not contaminated by diesel fuel, formerly necessary to power the milling machines. Thanks to access to energy, various activities can now improve the quality of production and the conditions of workers. For example, the tailoring business has finally seen an improvement in the working conditions of the women in the community.
These are just some of the benefits that the project has brought to the people who finally have the tools they need for their social growth. With these last two photovoltaic systems, the projects that Work System has carried out on behalf of the Absolute Energy Capital investment platform in East Africa rise to 4, demonstrating the continuity and the great mutual trust that we establish with all our customers.
